How this operator works

every way of working, already decided
A · capability focus

Owns the system, not the ticket

Takes end-to-end ownership of a service or surface. Design, delivery, on-call. And is measured on outcomes, not hours.

B · ways of working

Embedded, async-first, instrumented

Works inside your repos, your CI and your rituals. Daily written standups, decisions logged. No status-meeting tax.

C · reliability posture

Runbooks, canaries, reversible deploys

Every change gated and reversible. Incidents get a timeline and a postmortem; nothing ships without a rollback.

D · comms & cadence

Plugged into your Slack & rituals

Joins standups and retros, reports weekly against the goal. You get an operator, not a queue.

E · tooling

Brings a pre-wired stack or adopts yours

Infrastructure and observability as code by default. No bespoke setup tax to absorb.

F · onboarding

Scoped, gated, reversible

Week-1 shadow, week-2 ownership, swap on request inside the trial window. No long-tail handover risk.

Overview

The Storefront Rebuild Sprint replaces or replatforms one e-commerce storefront on a fixed scope — built to convert browsers into buyers, whether you're a DTC brand, a B2B wholesale operation, or complex retail. The build runs on a modern stack (React, Next.js, Node.js), headless where that fits, with a phased cutover instead of a big-bang launch.

Performance is treated as revenue: the sprint targets sub-2-second page loads because every 100ms improves conversion by roughly 1%, and checkout is engineered specifically to cut abandonment.

·

What's included

Conversion-Focused UX

Storefront design optimized for the buying journey across devices — category, product, cart — informed by your analytics, not templates.

Checkout & Payments

A streamlined checkout with Stripe, PayPal, Square, or enterprise processors, PCI-compliant, built to reduce abandonment step by step.

Catalog & Order Integration

Product catalog with advanced filtering, inventory sync, and order flow integrated with fulfillment and shipping providers (FedEx, UPS).

Performance Tuning

Sub-2-second load targets, measured and hit — image pipelines, caching, and rendering strategy tuned before launch, with GA4 wired in.

·

How it works

  1. Scope — Strategy and discovery: current-platform audit, conversion data review, and a fixed rebuild scope with migration plan.
  2. Build — Design and development in two-week sprints — storefront, checkout, integrations — with testing and performance optimization throughout.
  3. Handover — Phased cutover with SEO preserved, launch support, and a documented handover of the new storefront.

Part of every Delivery Plan

The Storefront Rebuild Sprint is a menu item on the Scrums.com delivery catalog, available at every plan tier. Add it to your plan backlog and your delivery team schedules it like any other item — scoped, tracked, and reported through the SEOP. See Delivery Plan Tiers.

FAQs

Will the migration take the store down?

No. Cutover is phased: the new storefront runs alongside the old one, traffic moves progressively, and rollback stays available until the numbers prove out. Revenue does not pause for the rebuild.

What happens to our SEO?

URL mapping, redirects, and structured data are part of the migration scope. Rankings are an asset the rebuild is required to preserve, and they're monitored through cutover.

What if we want to keep improving conversion after launch?

That's what the Commerce Engineering Pod is for — ongoing feature, integration, and conversion work on the same storefront, scheduled from your plan backlog.
