The Observability Foundation Sprint moves one engineering organization from blind delivery and unknown bottlenecks to real-time visibility: metrics, logs, and distributed traces instrumented across your services, unified dashboards, and alerting that routes to the people who can act.

The sprint also lands a DORA baseline — deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR — because reliability data and delivery data belong on the same screen. FAQs

Do we have to change observability vendors?

No. The sprint works with what you have — Datadog, New Relic, Elastic, Grafana, CloudWatch — and consolidates it. A vendor change is only proposed if your current stack can't deliver the scope, with costs made explicit.

Will this bury the team in alerts?

The opposite is the point. Alerts are tuned against observed baselines and every alert gets an owner and a runbook. Fewer, better alerts is an explicit acceptance criterion of the sprint.

Who watches the dashboards after the sprint?

Your team — the handover includes enablement. If you want managed monitoring and alert response on top of the foundation, add the Observability Watch SLA item to your plan backlog.
