This sprint moves a defined workload to a supported target — a version upgrade, a managed cloud database, or a different engine — with the schema converted, the data reconciled row for row, and the application patched to match.
Cutover is treated as the core deliverable, not the last step: rehearsals against production-scale data, a reconciliation report both sides can verify, and a rollback path that stays open through the migration window. The finish state: the workload in production on the new database, with the old one ready to retire.
