Connect an application to a CRM for defined contact, company, lead, deal, or activity workflows. Finish state: the defined workflows syncing reliably between product and CRM.
How this operator works
every way of working, already decidedOwns the system, not the ticket
Takes end-to-end ownership of a service or surface. Design, delivery, on-call. And is measured on outcomes, not hours.
Embedded, async-first, instrumented
Works inside your repos, your CI and your rituals. Daily written standups, decisions logged. No status-meeting tax.
Runbooks, canaries, reversible deploys
Every change gated and reversible. Incidents get a timeline and a postmortem; nothing ships without a rollback.
Plugged into your Slack & rituals
Joins standups and retros, reports weekly against the goal. You get an operator, not a queue.
Brings a pre-wired stack or adopts yours
Infrastructure and observability as code by default. No bespoke setup tax to absorb.
Scoped, gated, reversible
Week-1 shadow, week-2 ownership, swap on request inside the trial window. No long-tail handover risk.
Overview
The CRM Integration Package connects your application to your CRM — HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics, Pipedrive, or equivalent — for a defined set of workflows: signups becoming contacts, product events becoming activities, usage signals updating deals, or lifecycle stages flowing back into the product. The finish state is those workflows running reliably in production, with a written field-mapping contract, one agreed source of truth per field, and failures that alert instead of silently dropping records.
Complex integrations with CRMs, ERPs, and third-party APIs are core Scrums.com engineering territory. The discipline this package enforces is the mapping contract: every field has one owner and one direction, which is what keeps a CRM integration from decaying into two systems that disagree.
What's included
Workflow & Field Mapping
The workflows defined precisely — objects, triggers, directions — and a field-by-field mapping contract naming the source of truth for every synced property.
Integration Build
The integration implemented against the CRM's APIs with rate-limit awareness, pagination, batching, and webhook or polling triggers as the workflows require.
Identity & Deduplication
Matching rules that decide when a product user and a CRM contact are the same person, duplicate-safe upserts, and a defined merge policy for conflicts.
Monitoring & Failure Handling
Sync logs, retry with backoff, a dead-letter path for unprocessable records, and alerting — so a broken sync is a ticket, not a quarter-end surprise.
How it works
- Scope — Fix the workflows, the field-mapping contract, identity rules, and the CRM sandbox for testing.
- Build — Implement and test the sync against sandbox data, including backfill of existing records where agreed.
- Handover — Production cutover, monitoring live, and the mapping contract documented for both product and revenue teams.
Part of every Delivery Plan
The CRM Integration Package is a menu item on the Scrums.com delivery catalog, available at every plan tier. Add it to your plan backlog and your delivery team schedules it like any other item — scoped, tracked, and reported through the SEOP. See Delivery Plan Tiers.
FAQs
What is in scope for one package?
One CRM, up to a handful of defined workflows, and the objects they touch. A full bidirectional sync of every object is a bigger animal — that is the Two-Way SaaS Data Sync item.
Our CRM data is full of duplicates. Does that block the work?
No, but it shapes it. The identity rules handle matching going forward; a historical dedupe of the CRM itself can be scoped as a companion task if it is bad enough to matter.
What about marketing tools downstream of the CRM?
Connecting product events to marketing platforms — segments, journeys, attribution — is its own menu item, the Marketing Automation Integration. The two share the same identity groundwork.
