How this operator works

every way of working, already decided
A · capability focus

Owns the system, not the ticket

Takes end-to-end ownership of a service or surface. Design, delivery, on-call. And is measured on outcomes, not hours.

B · ways of working

Embedded, async-first, instrumented

Works inside your repos, your CI and your rituals. Daily written standups, decisions logged. No status-meeting tax.

C · reliability posture

Runbooks, canaries, reversible deploys

Every change gated and reversible. Incidents get a timeline and a postmortem; nothing ships without a rollback.

D · comms & cadence

Plugged into your Slack & rituals

Joins standups and retros, reports weekly against the goal. You get an operator, not a queue.

E · tooling

Brings a pre-wired stack or adopts yours

Infrastructure and observability as code by default. No bespoke setup tax to absorb.

F · onboarding

Scoped, gated, reversible

Week-1 shadow, week-2 ownership, swap on request inside the trial window. No long-tail handover risk.

Overview

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent that runs in the terminal. It reads and reasons over a whole codebase, then does real development work: editing files across the project, running tests and builds, debugging failures, and driving git workflows such as commits and pull requests. Because it lives on the command line, it also runs headless — in scripts, hooks and CI — not just interactively.

Through Scrums.com, Claude Code is deployed as a standard capability across your engineering teams. Scrums.com delivery teams roll it out with the right project configuration and permissions, integrate it into your repositories and pipelines, and govern its use — tracked on the SEOP.

·

What it does

Whole-codebase understanding

The agent explores the repository to build context — structure, conventions, dependencies — before making changes, so edits fit the codebase they land in.

Multi-file edits and refactors

From a task description it plans and applies coordinated changes across many files, from bug fixes to larger refactors.

Test, build and git workflows

It runs tests and builds to verify its own work, debugs failures, and handles git operations — branching, committing, and preparing pull requests.

Scriptable automation and CI use

As a command-line tool it can be scripted and embedded in CI and other automation, turning agent runs into repeatable pipeline steps.

·

Deploying it with Scrums.com

  1. Scope. Scrums.com assesses fit against your workflows, codebase and governance requirements, and defines where and how teams use the agent.
  2. Integrate. Scrums.com engineers configure Claude Code for your repositories, pipelines and tooling, with permission guardrails per project.
  3. Operate. Usage runs under governance, with usage and outcome reporting via the SEOP.
·

Commercial availability

Claude Code is sold by Anthropic and is available through subscription plans or metered API usage. Scrums.com supports procurement as part of a deployment — licensing is with Anthropic; Scrums.com delivers rollout, integration and governance.

FAQs

How is Claude Code different from an IDE assistant?

It is a terminal-native agent rather than an editor plugin: it takes whole tasks, works across the repository, runs commands and tests, and can operate headless in automation as well as interactively.

What access does a deployment need?

Anthropic subscription or API access, plus local or CI access to the repositories in scope. Scrums.com defines per-project permission settings during integration.

How is its use governed?

Tool permissions constrain what the agent may run and touch, and its changes flow through your normal review and CI gates. Scrums.com configures these controls and reports usage and outcomes on the SEOP.
