How this operator works

every way of working, already decided
A · capability focus

Owns the system, not the ticket

Takes end-to-end ownership of a service or surface. Design, delivery, on-call. And is measured on outcomes, not hours.

B · ways of working

Embedded, async-first, instrumented

Works inside your repos, your CI and your rituals. Daily written standups, decisions logged. No status-meeting tax.

C · reliability posture

Runbooks, canaries, reversible deploys

Every change gated and reversible. Incidents get a timeline and a postmortem; nothing ships without a rollback.

D · comms & cadence

Plugged into your Slack & rituals

Joins standups and retros, reports weekly against the goal. You get an operator, not a queue.

E · tooling

Brings a pre-wired stack or adopts yours

Infrastructure and observability as code by default. No bespoke setup tax to absorb.

F · onboarding

Scoped, gated, reversible

Week-1 shadow, week-2 ownership, swap on request inside the trial window. No long-tail handover risk.

Overview

The Digital Wallet Integration sprint adds one defined wallet capability — Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or a regional wallet — to an existing payment journey. Wallet integrations look small and rarely are: domain verification, device and browser certification, token lifecycle, and the checkout UX rules each wallet enforces all have to be right before the button can ship.

The finish state is a certified wallet option live in production checkout, handling payment, refund, and failure paths correctly on web and mobile surfaces in scope, with conversion tracked against the pre-wallet baseline so the business case is visible.

·

What's included

Wallet Enablement & Certification

Provider configuration, domain and merchant verification, and the wallet vendor's certification requirements completed for the surfaces in scope.

Checkout Integration

The wallet button integrated into your checkout with correct availability detection, express-checkout placement, and fallback when the wallet is unavailable.

Token & Credential Handling

Tokenized credential flows implemented end to end — authorization, capture, refunds, and recurring use where the wallet supports it — with no raw card data touching your systems.

Conversion Measurement

Funnel instrumentation comparing wallet and non-wallet checkout completion, so uptake and conversion impact are measured, not assumed.

·

How it works

  1. Scope — Fix the wallet, surfaces, and payment flows in scope; confirm provider support and certification requirements.
  2. Build — Integrate and certify the wallet behind a feature flag, testing payment, refund, and failure paths on real devices.
  3. Handover — Progressive rollout with conversion monitoring, then documentation and runbooks for the live capability.

Part of every Delivery Plan

The Digital Wallet Integration is a menu item on the Scrums.com delivery catalog, available at every plan tier. Add it to your plan backlog and your delivery team schedules it like any other item — scoped, tracked, and reported through the SEOP. See Delivery Plan Tiers.

FAQs

Is this one wallet or several?

One defined wallet capability per sprint — that is what keeps certification and device testing honest. Additional wallets are follow-on items, and the second is faster because the token handling is already in place.

Do we need an existing payment gateway?

Yes — the sprint integrates a wallet into a working payment journey. If the gateway itself is the gap, the Payment Gateway Integration package comes first.

What happens if conversion does not move?

The measurement is part of the deliverable either way. Wallet uptake varies by audience and market; you get the real number, the working capability, and the data to decide on the next wallet.
