Why a starter kit rather than a full design system?

Because full systems built up-front die unused. The starter covers the components that appear on most of your screens; the contribution model grows it from real need, which is how systems earn adoption.

Do you migrate our existing screens onto the system?

The sprint includes the migration path, not the migration. Screens move over as they are touched — or as a scheduled plan item if you want it done in one push.

What if we already have a partial system?

Common, and useful. The sprint consolidates what works, fills the gaps, and retires the duplicates — it does not restart from zero. Ongoing design capacity afterwards is what the Product Design Pod is for.
