What a scope is

A scope is a purchasable unit of engineering work. It describes the outcome Scrums.com will deliver rather than the person or tool you receive. A useful scope includes:
  • The problem and target outcome
  • Included and excluded work
  • Required inputs and dependencies
  • Deliverables and acceptance criteria
  • Delivery stages and review points
  • Commercial unit and assumptions
  • Security, access, and environment constraints

Scope lifecycle

  1. Select a catalog scope or describe the outcome you need.
  2. Confirm assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  3. Add the scope to an order and complete checkout.
  4. Assign the resulting deployment to a workspace.
  5. Review progress and approve deliverables at defined checkpoints.
  6. Accept, extend, or close the deployment.
Outcome-Driven Sprints are one way to execute a scope. Do not use “ODS” as a synonym for every AI Development scope. Browse scopes →
