How this operator works

every way of working, already decided
A · capability focus

Owns the system, not the ticket

Takes end-to-end ownership of a service or surface. Design, delivery, on-call. And is measured on outcomes, not hours.

B · ways of working

Embedded, async-first, instrumented

Works inside your repos, your CI and your rituals. Daily written standups, decisions logged. No status-meeting tax.

C · reliability posture

Runbooks, canaries, reversible deploys

Every change gated and reversible. Incidents get a timeline and a postmortem; nothing ships without a rollback.

D · comms & cadence

Plugged into your Slack & rituals

Joins standups and retros, reports weekly against the goal. You get an operator, not a queue.

E · tooling

Brings a pre-wired stack or adopts yours

Infrastructure and observability as code by default. No bespoke setup tax to absorb.

F · onboarding

Scoped, gated, reversible

Week-1 shadow, week-2 ownership, swap on request inside the trial window. No long-tail handover risk.

·

Overview

Manual releases tax every deploy and make rollback a scramble. This package implements a full CI/CD pipeline for a defined application or repository: automated build and test, release promotion with approvals where they belong, deployment automation, and rollback that works. The finish state is a team shipping through the pipeline as its normal path to production, with deploys measured in minutes.

The pipeline is built on your platform, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure Pipelines, and encodes your promotion flow: what runs on every commit, what gates a release, who approves what, and how a bad release comes back out. Pipeline definitions live in the repository, versioned like the code they ship.

·

What's included

Build and test automation

Every commit built and tested automatically, with fast feedback and clear failure output.

Release promotion and approvals

Staged promotion through environments, with approval gates only where they earn their delay.

Deployment automation

Repeatable, scripted deployments replacing manual steps and tribal knowledge.

Working rollback

A tested path to revert a bad release in minutes, not an improvised emergency.

·

How it works

  1. Scope: map the current release path, agree the target pipeline, gates, and acceptance criteria.
  2. Build: implement the pipeline in stages, running it in parallel with the old path until proven.
  3. Handover: cut releases over to the pipeline, train the team, hand over documentation.

FAQs

Which CI/CD platforms do you work with?

The mainstream platforms, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, and CircleCI. Scoping picks the one that fits your repository host and team rather than introducing a new tool by default.

Do we need good test coverage first?

No, but the pipeline is only as trustworthy as its tests. Existing tests are wired in; where coverage is thin, that gap is flagged, and the Continuous Testing Pipeline menu item is the structured way to close it.

What about database changes and migrations?

Schema migrations are handled as part of the deployment flow, with ordering and rollback strategy agreed in scoping, because deploys that ignore the database are only half automated.
