Senior AI Value Realisation Engineer

This role is responsible for measuring, validating, and optimising the business value generated by AI platforms and AI use cases across the organisation. The position establishes consistent value measurement frameworks, tracks realised benefits against approved business cases, identifies value leakage, and enables leadership to make evidence based decisions on scaling, optimising, or retiring AI initiatives. The successful candidate will act as the objective owner of AI value discipline, working across business, finance, product, and engineering teams to ensure AI investments deliver measurable, defensible returns.

Responsibilities

AI Value Framework and Measurement Design

  • Define and maintain a standardised AI value realisation framework across the organisation
  • Establish methodologies to quantify AI value, including revenue uplift, cost reduction, loss prevention/risk reduction, and productivity or efficiency gains
  • Ensure metrics are comparable across use cases and business units, defensible and auditable, and aligned to finance and strategy standards

Benefits Tracking and Validation

  • Track realised AI benefits against approved business cases and expected KPIs and assumptions
  • Validate outcomes in collaboration with AI use case owners, finance, and performance teams
  • Distinguish clearly between direct AI attributed value and correlated or indirect benefits

Value Leakage Identification and Optimisation

  • Identify gaps between forecast versus realised value, and technical performance versus business impact
  • Diagnose root causes of value leakage, including low adoption, change failure, process friction, cost overruns, or data and model limitations
  • Recommend corrective actions and optimisation opportunities

AI Investment and Portfolio Analytics

  • Support investment decisions through ROI analysis, break even and payback modelling, and scale versus retire recommendations
  • Provide portfolio level insights on high performing and underperforming or at risk AI initiatives
  • Enable prioritisation based on evidence rather than advocacy

Executive Reporting and Transparency

  • Produce concise, credible reporting on AI value delivered, value at risk, and expected versus realised benefits
  • Translate AI outcomes into executive and board ready insights
  • Support steering committees and governance forums with objective data

Continuous Value Governance

  • Embed value tracking into the AI delivery lifecycle and post deployment operations
  • Ensure value measurement continues beyond go live
  • Refine frameworks as AI maturity and regulatory expectations evolve

Experience and education

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in value realisation, performance management, business analytics, finance, or strategy roles
  • Proven track record of quantifying value from digital, analytics, or technology initiatives
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, telecommunications, or other regulated environments is highly advantageous
  • Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, or data platforms is preferred
