The role is responsible for owning the vision, roadmap, and commercial outcome of an AI platform, ensuring it delivers scalable, reliable, and reusable AI capabilities aligned to business priorities. This position prioritises platform capabilities, defines SLAs and KPIs, drives adoption across business units and product teams, and tracks value realisation. The incumbent acts as the primary interface between business demand and AI engineering delivery, ensuring the platform evolves as a cohesive product rather than a collection of disconnected tools. The role works closely with platform engineering, architecture, security and risk, site reliability engineering, value realisation, and business stakeholders to ensure platform evolution is aligned, funded, governed, and measurable.
Responsibilities
Platform Vision & Strategy
- Define and maintain the platform vision in alignment with overall business strategy
- Translate business objectives into clear platform capability themes and value propositions
- Position the platform as a shared organisational asset and a scalable enabler of use cases
- Balance innovation with stability, cost, and regulatory requirements
Product Roadmap & Backlog Management
- Own and prioritise the platform roadmap and maintain a clear, outcome-driven backlog
- Prioritise features based on business value, risk reduction, platform maturity, and demand from business units
- Ensure alignment between roadmap, funding, and delivery capacity
Stakeholder Engagement & Demand Management
- Engage with business and use-case owners, technology teams, and other internal functions
- Translate demand into clear, scalable platform requirements rather than bespoke solutions
- Manage expectations around service levels, feature availability, and platform constraints
SLAs, KPIs & Adoption Management
- Define and own platform SLAs and KPIs, including availability, performance, usage, and adoption
- Track platform adoption across business units, products, and use cases
- Collaborate with reliability and engineering teams to ensure SLAs are consistently met
Value Realisation & Commercial Discipline
- Partner with value realisation functions to track benefits delivered by the platform
- Identify value leakage or underutilisation and drive corrective action
- Ensure platform investment delivers measurable business outcomes, cost efficiency, and reuse
- Provide input into budgeting and investment decisions
Governance & Lifecycle Management
- Ensure platform evolution aligns with architecture standards, security and risk requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Support governance forums with platform performance reporting and roadmap decisions
- Drive platform lifecycle management from pilot through to scaled and industrialised stages
Experience and education
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in product management or platform ownership roles
- Demonstrated experience owning technology platforms, not just end-user products
- Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and translate strategy into execution
- Experience in financial services, fintech, telecommunications, or other regulated industries is highly advantageous
- Exposure to AI, data, or digital platforms is preferred
