# Platform Overview

> Understand how the Scrums.com Software Engineering Orchestration Platform coordinates catalog deployments, delivery intelligence, and governance.

## One orchestration platform

Scrums.com is a Software Engineering Orchestration Platform (SEOP). It gives engineering and product leaders one place to deploy, measure, govern, and scale software delivery.

The platform coordinates three commercial surfaces:

Platform capabilities such as DORA metrics, developer productivity, capacity planning, the agent harness, and the MCP Gateway operate across those deployments.

## The operating model

1. **Orchestrate.** Select what you need and deploy it into a workspace.
2. **Measure.** Connect delivery tools and observe outcomes through shared telemetry.
3. **Govern.** Apply workspace roles, policies, approvals, and audit controls.
4. **Scale.** Add or change capacity as your roadmap and constraints change.

## Platform and catalog are different

The platform is the control plane. The catalog contains deployable records. A platform subscription gives you the workspace, governance, intelligence, and support needed to operate catalog deployments.
