# Forward Deployed Engineers

> Hire forward deployed engineers with client-facing depth, domain expertise and AI deployment skills. Vetted FDEs deployed in 21 days across five African regions.

Forward deployed engineers bridge the gap between your product and your customer's environment. They are client-facing, technically deep and domain-aware, and they carry AI deployment skills into the systems where your product has to run. Use them when the work is embedding a product or an AI capability inside a customer's or a business unit's environment rather than building in isolation.

FDEs are vetted and deployed through the platform in 21 days, from five African regions: South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Egypt. They are provisioned in three shapes: an FDE Deployment Squad, a Multi-Customer FDE Cell, or an FDE Center of Excellence. Each shape runs under your governance with the platform's audit trail and reporting. To start, describe the deployment on the www page; Scrums.com prepares a matched shortlist for your review, as described in [Vetting and matching](/docs/hire/vetting-and-matching).
