# First-Time Setup

> Configure your Scrums.com workspace and prepare for your first engineering engagement.

## Overview

After signing up, completing your workspace setup ensures your team can collaborate effectively and that Scrums.com can match and deploy the right talent to your projects. This process typically takes 5 minutes.

## Step 1: Set Up Your Organisation Profile

Navigate to **Settings > Organisation**. Fill in your company name, industry, primary location, and preferred timezone. This information is used to match you with the right engineers and delivery teams.

## Step 2: Connect Your Tools

Scrums.com integrates with the tools your team already uses. In **Settings > Integrations**, connect:

* **Jira, Azure Boards or Clickup** for sprint and backlog tracking
* **Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Azure Repos, or AWS CodeCommit** for for Git tracking
* **Slack or Microsoft teams** for Notifications
* **Windsurf, Cursor, Copilot, or Claude Code** for AI Agent tracking

## Step 3: Invite Your Team

Go to **Settings > Users** and invite colleagues who will be using the platform. Assign roles:

| Role | Description |
| ------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Admin | Full workspace access and control, billing, and user management |
| Manager | Can view dashboards, manage team activity, and approve work |
| Viewer | Read-only access to dashboards and delivery reports |

On the Recommended and Enterprise plans, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) allows more granular permission management.

## Step 4: Create Your First Project

In the **Start a Project Wizard** on the Projects Page, click **Start A Project**. You will be asked to describe:

* Your immediate priorities (e.g. new product build, legacy modernisation, QA automation, AI adoption)
* Whether you need an individual, a team, or AI agents
* The tech stack(s) you are working with (e.g. React, Node.js, Python, .NET, Java)
* The type of engagement you need (Dedicated Team, Managed Delivery, or On Demand)

This helps your Enablement Partner and the Scrums.com matching engine recommend the right delivery model and team structure.

## Step 5: Schedule Your Kickoff

Once your workspace is configured, your Enablement Partner will reach out to schedule a formal kickoff call. This session aligns your delivery goals, confirms your team structure, and sets up your first sprint.
